Mike Penn worked his way through college playing in a rock band, and worked full time as a police officer. His goal was to fly a jet fighter in the United States Navy, land on an aircraft carrier, and fly faster than the speed of sound.

For Captain Mike Penn, flying the A-4 Skyhawk, A-7E Corsair II, and the F-4J Phantom, exceeded his goals.

Captain Mike Penn is a Distinguished Naval Graduate, and lived the movies “An Officer and a Gentleman” and “Topgun”, Mike enjoyed the life of a commercial airline pilot, check pilot, chief pilot and flight manager at the most successful airline in the world, Southwest Airlines.

Although he is professionally, Captain Mike Penn, the role in his life he cherishes the most is simply known as husband to his great wife, JJ, and “Dad” to his kids and “Pop” to his grandchildren.
